Regarding Paradise Lost--

Professor: I don't want to spoil the ending for you.
Student: She eats the apple, right?

Same professor as the New Testament lit class. "I don't want to give the end away." "He dies, right?" I've been racking my brains with thinking of a suitable gift to give him upon graduation, along with the letter I hope to write him. Teachers? Anything you'd want your students to give, besides cold hard cash and liquor? Of course, he's writing my letters of recommendation, so. Have to keep that in mind.

I find it a bit odd that this time exactly last year, I was showing off my werepopes and had earlier been researching the method behind finding a new pope. Still keeping track of the news on Pope John Paul II. Still can't think of anything to say except that it's sad. It's just pretty sad. I'm actually a bit surprised that I haven't gotten a phone call or an email from the zealot Catholic side of the family yet.

Random smattering of things )

I am constantly afraid that I am a loser.

My mother called me with the exact phrasing of "He's kicked. Go turn on your television."

May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, amen. Although, as Flidget pointed out, he's the pope and I don't think he's going to go short on prayers. I think he was a good man, and I think he did far more good things than the things I didn't agree with, and I'm glad he's in a better place now. Because I believe that too.

Now, to wait and see what comes next for us.
