I am back once again, from the AHA conference in America's Wang, and full of things to say about, you know, stuff. But I need to drive to a dinner with yet more cardiologists in about an hour, so I will come back to that later, and cover the important things.

First, whenever I go to a conference, I always miss, like, five people's birthdays. In this case, I think it was [livejournal.com profile] m_steelgrave and [livejournal.com profile] paintobscura. They are both incredibly cool people, so a belated rush of clowns and balloons and cake, and clowns in balloon-shaped cakes shall be rushed to them.

Secondly, I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] velithya and [livejournal.com profile] paintobscura, and they were both delightful people. So far, all my internet-meeting people has been really rewarding; I have not encountered one ax-murderer or creepy molestor yet, which is really skewing my perceptions on what my parents always told me would happen if I met online people.

I was somewhat worried that I would commit some terrible faux-pas in front of Vel, but [livejournal.com profile] kadrin gave me a Cliff Note's version of what to expect when Having Dinner With An Australian, which you can review for your own personal reference below.

I always knew I would end up arm-wrestling for my life in a Chinese restaurant, but I never knew what hat I'd be wearing while I did it )

Not that PF Changs truly counts as a Chinese restaurant, but you get the idea.

And third, good luck to everyone on Nano, both the Wrimo and Mango versions. I salute you poor bastards. And now, I'm going to go dine with cardiologists. Hopefully, the evening will not end in any hearts wrenched from chests, but I've got my Heart Wrenching Hat just in case.

New mp3s coming very shortly.
