Anime Boston happened three months ago, which pretty much makes it obsolete in internet time and completely unrecallable in Thorne Brain Memory Time, but there are a few highlights I wrote down that still stick with me. I'll get to those one of these days, like the time the Twig, Lunar and Flidget all took drugs without me while I was in the shower. In the meantime, I kinda want to talk about Axis Powers Hetalia.
( Does this fandom rash look infected to you? )
If you are a tl;dr type person, all that's above can be summed up with the statement, "Hetalia fandom itself confuses me, and the actual series has flaws, but generally it tends to amuse me more than put me off." And if you have good recs for it, please feel free to give them to me, because I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.
Currently, I'm sad because Louise has moved back to southern Maryland and is no longer within easy access. Soon, she'll return to New York to finish her doctorate and I'll only be able to see her by four hour train ride or eight hour bus ride, rather than fifteen minute Metro ride. Of course, that gives my liver until October to rest up. By then, it should be ready for her annual Halloween party. So, I could just be grouchy about losing one of my best friends, and tomorrow I will be less ambivalent about unapologetically silly anthromorphic countries. (If I had a nickel for every time I said that.)
…you know, if people online don't tell me where they're from or make it blatantly obvious through their diction and spelling, I always assume they’re from New York. I don't know why. WHERE ARE ALL YOU PEOPLE FROM? IS IT ACTUALLY NEW YORK?
