Felt so symbolic yesterday
Dec. 31st, 2016 08:37 pmGod, 2016 was a shitty year, wasn't it? Like, it was going to take a hell of a year to knock Shitsburgh and the Flightless Chodes out of the top three, but by God, did 2016 manage to do its best to even put them out of the top ten. (Don't worry, they still got awarded a spot in the top ten though through no real talent of their own, just as always.)
Right now I'm in Los Angeles with three cats at my shoulder, and it's raining, and I'm just back from an art museum where I waited two hours to see the Infinite Mirror Room exhibit but did not actually get to see the exhibit, and it feels like life should be significant and metaphorical and shit. Like, this is a very significant setting I'm in. I feel like I'm in a Neil Gaiman short story or something. (Though my sister in law just ruined the ambience of the setting by yelling "ME HUNGWY!" in the background, but that actually is more like the kind of setting I'm used to and it made me laugh, so that's cool.)
Lots of people died this year. This Achewood strip kind of perfectly sums up why it's such a bummer.
